Is ParakeetAI worth it?

For one or two interviews, ParakeetAI can be worth it if you test it on the free sessions first and buy only the credits you need. For a long search with many calls, the cost adds up fast, and its refund policy gives little back once you have used a purchase. Its own users say both things at once. One five star review on Trustpilot is titled simply:

“good but quite expensive”

This guide covers what ParakeetAI costs, who it suits, what its refund rules really say, and how to ask for your money back or stop a plan. Everything about its policies comes from its own pricing page, refund policy and terms, which we read on 4 November 2026. Everything about how it behaves comes from named, dated reviews. What does ParakeetAI do well?

Plenty of people are happy with it. On the day we checked, its Trustpilot page showed a score of 4.6 from 408 reviews, and its G2 page showed 4.4 from 219. On Trustpilot the same day, Final Round AI showed 2.8 and Cluely 1.6.

The praise is consistent. Reviewers like the speed: one called it “amazing fast answers a great help for nervous moments” (Miguel Angel Bula Carmona, Trustpilot, 25 September 2026). Another uses it the way these tools work best, as a safety net rather than a script: “it is a good support in case I get lost in my thoughts” (B.N, Trustpilot, 28 September 2026). A G2 reviewer, Kimberly P., liked that credits let you try it without a big commitment: “you can purchase enough credits for just one usage” (18 October 2026).

It also gives you several ways to use it. Its pricing page lists a desktop app for Windows and macOS, a web version in desktop Chrome, and a phone browser version. Its FAQ there says you choose the AI model from a dropdown when you create a session, that it uses your uploaded CV and any documents you add, and that there is a mock interview mode. And you can buy credits instead of a subscription.

How much does ParakeetAI cost?

There are two ways to pay, both on its pricing page.

• Credits. The page says half a credit buys a 30 minute call session. At that rate, one credit works out to an hour of calls, which is how we count it below; the page does not spell out how a call that runs past 30 minutes is charged. A single credit costs $38. Bigger packs bring the price per credit down, to $11.80 in the largest pack, but you pay for the whole pack up front. The page says to “use them whenever”, and we did not find an expiry date for credits in the terms.
• Unlimited plans. $149.90 a month, or $599.90 a year, which works out to about $49.99 a month if you pay for the year at once. A weekly plan also exists for a short burst of calls. These renew until you cancel them.

Our figures are the US prices, read off its own page, last checked in October 2026. The price is not the same everywhere. When we opened the same page on 4 November 2026, one visit was shown prices in rupees and a visit from the US was shown dollars, and the rupee prices were lower once converted. Meanwhile its terms say “All payments shall be in US dollars” and “We may change prices at any time.” Before you pay, look at the currency on the checkout screen, take a screenshot of it, and compare it with your bank or card statement afterwards. If you pay in a foreign currency, your bank may add a fee of its own.

The free trial is listed in our comparison as 10 free sessions of 10 min. That is handy for a sound check, and a little short for anything else. Syed M. wrote on G2 that “the current free trial is only ten minutes, which is quite limited” (28 September 2026), and Aisha A. found out the hard way, writing that her free session “suddenly disappeared in the middle of an interview” (23 September 2026). Use free sessions for tests, never for a real call.

Is ParakeetAI worth it for your job search?

It depends on how many hours of calls you expect in a month. The table adds up three options for hour-long interviews, all inside one month: buying single ParakeetAI credits, one month of ParakeetAI Unlimited, and our own packs for comparison. For ParakeetAI we assume one credit per hour-long interview, based on its stated rate of half a credit per 30 minutes. That is our assumption, not a rule it publishes, so check the credits used on your own session list. Our row assumes one 60 minute session per interview.

Three things stand out. First, at the single credit price, Unlimited is the cheaper choice once you have 4 or more hours of calls in a month, on our one credit per hour assumption. Second, buying credits at the bulk rate means you need many more hours before Unlimited becomes cheaper: at $11.80 a credit, Unlimited only wins at 13 or more hours. But the bulk rate needs the largest pack, so you are paying for many hours you may never use. Third, if your calls are short, credits go further: a 30 minute screening round uses half a credit.

When ParakeetAI makes sense

• A busy month with a firm end. If you have many rounds booked inside a few weeks and will cancel the moment they end, a plan can cost less per call than credits. Set a reminder for the cancel date the day you subscribe.
• You want a browser or phone option. If you cannot install software on the computer you use for interviews, the web version could be the reason you choose ParakeetAI.
• You already know the subject. Like every tool of this kind, it helps most when it reminds you of something you know, not when it has to invent an answer you cannot defend.

When to keep your money

• One or two interviews. Paying the single credit price for each call is the most expensive way to use it. Compare totals with other pay-per-interview tools first.
• A long, slow search. A plan billed every month while you wait weeks between rounds is money spent on nothing, and the refund policy does not give back the unused part of a period.
• Text on screen throws you off. akash jain wrote on Trustpilot that “seeing on the screen only disturbs the focus” (19 September 2026). If that sounds like you, no copilot is worth paying for.

What do unhappy ParakeetAI users report?

Several of the one star reviews we read describe a session that went wrong during a live call, or answers that did not help. That matters, because the refund policy treats a used credit very differently from an unused one.

• Credits spent on a session that did not work. A reviewer listed as AAA wrote that the tool did not pick up the questions, and “Despite the detection not working, my credits were still consumed” (22 September 2026). They asked for the credits from that session to be restored.
• Stopping partway through. George P wrote that it “Tripped badly 30 mins into my interview” (29 August 2026). Kridge, in April, described answers that “made no sense and kept freezing” (16 April 2026).
• Answers that did not help. Rohit Kumar wrote on Trustpilot that “the model was not responding quickly” and its replies did not match the question (26 September 2026). sai pavan on Trustpilot said “it gives so long answers” even after instructions (23 September 2026).
• Credits that go quickly. On G2, Kimberly P., who rated it five stars, still wrote that “The credits run through incredibly fast” (18 October 2026), and Binnie B. summed it up as “high price but worth it” (27 September 2026).
• Phones during assessments. Nagavamshi Vamshi wrote that it did not work properly on a mobile phone during a company assessment (Trustpilot, 13 October 2026). If you plan to use the phone version, test it on that phone first.

To be fair to ParakeetAI, it does answer some complaints in public. When one buyer wrote that their credits showed only a transcript, the company replied, pointed them to its free sessions and tutorials, and gave its support email (Trustpilot, August 2026). Its Trustpilot page says it has replied to 9% of negative reviews, typically within 48 hours.

What does ParakeetAI’s refund policy actually say?

Here is its refund policy in plain words, as we read it on 4 November 2026. The same rules sit in the refunds section of its terms, last updated 16 October 2026.

1. Unused purchases: 7 days. You can get a full refund within 7 days for an accidental or unused purchase. “Unused” means nothing from that purchase has been used. One call session or mock interview paid with a credit from it counts as use.
2. The 5 minute exception. A credit session does not count as use if its charge came back because you ended it within 5 minutes of being charged. On a plan, a session shorter than 5 minutes does not count either.
3. Free sessions are separate. Your free trial sessions and your free mock interview never touch a purchase, so using them does not cost you your refund.
4. No partial refunds. Outside the technical issue rule below, if you used one credit from a pack, the rest of the pack is not refunded. Cancelling a plan does not refund the unused part of the period either.
5. Renewals: 28 days. A plan renewal you have not used since it renewed can be refunded within 28 days. A renewal charged after you had already cancelled is refunded in full automatically, the terms say.
6. Technical issues: 30 days. A purchase you have used, or one outside the windows above, can still be refunded within 30 days of buying it if a technical issue on ParakeetAI’s side stopped you using it. You tell support what happened, and it checks its records and decides.
7. One refund per person. Not per account. A refund on another account used on the same device or card counts. The terms add that purchases made after a refund are not eligible.
8. Referral codes. If you bought with someone’s referral code and they have used the bonus credits it earned them, your purchase counts as used, even if you have not touched it.

Two more lines in the terms are worth knowing. By starting a call session, you agree that delivery has begun and, where the law allows, give up the right of withdrawal that EU consumers would otherwise have. And refunds go back to the original payment method, which the terms say can take 5 to 10 business days.

The rule that catches people is the first one. Testing a paid credit on a practice call is “use”. So the right order is: test on the free sessions, then buy. And if a paid session fails, the 30 day technical issue clause is your route, which is why evidence matters.

How do you ask ParakeetAI for a refund?

The refund policy says to open the support chat in your ParakeetAI dashboard and say which purchase you want refunded and why. The chat checks the request against the policy and either shows you a card to confirm the refund, passes it to the team for a closer look, or tells you why not. The terms also list an email address, support@parakeet-ai.com, which is the place to follow up in writing.

Before you write

• Note the purchase. The date, the amount and currency on your bank statement, and what you bought (a single credit, a pack or a plan).
• Note the session. If a session failed, write down the date, the time it started, the meeting app, and what went wrong: no transcript, no answers, frozen window, wrong questions.
• Take screenshots. Your session list with credits used, any error message, and the receipt. Save them somewhere other than the laptop you interview on.
• Work out which rule fits. Unused and within 7 days? Say so. Used, but the session failed, within 30 days? Describe what happened and ask them to check it under the technical issue rule.

A message you can copy

Hello, I would like a refund for my purchase on [date] of [single credit / credit pack / plan], charged [amount and currency] to my [card / UPI]. [Choose one:] I have not used any credit from this purchase, and it is within the 7 day window in your refund policy. [Or:] On [date] at [time], my paid session on [Zoom / Teams / Meet] failed: [what happened]. I could not use the service in that session. It is within 30 days of purchase, so please review it under the technical issues part of your refund policy and check your records for that session. Screenshots are attached. Please confirm the refund, or tell me in writing why it does not apply. Thank you.

Keep it short and factual. Quote their own policy back to them, not your frustration. Save a copy of the chat, or the reply email, with its date. If you only want the failed credits back rather than money, say that instead; it is a smaller ask.

How do you cancel a ParakeetAI plan and stop the next charge?

If you only ever bought credits, there is nothing to cancel. Credits are a one-time purchase. Plans are different: they renew.

1. Cancel on the website. Its terms say you can cancel a subscription at any time from your Profile page. You keep access until the end of the period you already paid for, and no further renewals are charged. Deleting the desktop app does not cancel anything.
2. Keep proof. Take a screenshot of the cancelled state and keep any confirmation email. The terms promise that a renewal collected after you cancelled is refunded in full automatically. That is a good rule, and the screenshot is how you prove it applies to you. One reviewer, Kridge, wrote in April that “I’m still getting charged every month even after canceling” (16 April 2026). The terms we read are dated 16 October 2026, so the rules may have changed since then, but the lesson holds.
3. Check the mandate at your bank. If you paid with an Indian card on a recurring plan, RBI rules require a notice at least 24 hours before each automatic debit, and you can cancel the mandate yourself from your bank or card app. If you set up UPI AutoPay, the mandate shows in your UPI app, where you can cancel it too. Do this after cancelling on the website, not instead of it.
4. No app store step. The pricing page says the native mobile app is not yet out on the App Store or Google Play, so you cannot have paid through them. The app store refund routes do not apply here.

Cancel the day you subscribe if you only need a set period. You still keep access until the end of what you paid for, and nothing renews while you are busy with an offer.

What if ParakeetAI support does not reply?

1. Follow up in writing. If the chat goes nowhere, email support@parakeet-ai.com with the same message and your screenshots. Give a clear date for a reply, such as seven days.
2. Know where the company is. ParakeetAI d.o.o. is registered in Slovenia, and its terms are under Slovenian law. They also say that if you live in the EU and are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of your own country. 3. Write a review if it helps. ParakeetAI replies to some negative Trustpilot reviews. Stick to facts and dates. Do not post your order number or email in public.
4. Dispute the charge as a last step. If you were charged after cancelling, or for something you did not get, ask your bank or card issuer how to dispute it. Send them your screenshots and the chat. A dispute can take weeks, and some companies close the account of anyone who files one, so try the steps above first.

One more thing about US buyers. The FTC rule that would have made cancelling as easy as signing up was struck down by a federal appeals court in July 2025, so you cannot lean on that rule. Your card issuer is the main lever.

How do you get the most from credits you already bought?

If you have ParakeetAI credits sitting in your account, using them well is often better value than switching straight away. These tips come from its own pricing page FAQ and refund policy.

• End, do not just leave. The FAQ says choosing “Leave for now” in a credit session keeps the timer running. “End session” stops it. After ending, you have 5 minutes to pick the session back up for half a credit.
• Start late, not early. Start the paid session when the interviewer joins, not while you wait in the lobby. Do your sound check on a free session the day before.
• Use the 5 minute rule. If something is wrong in the first minutes, such as no transcript, end it quickly. The refund policy says a credit charge that came back because you ended within 5 minutes does not count as use.
• Match the session to the call. Half a credit covers 30 minutes, so a short screening call does not need a full credit.
• Do not share the account. The terms say shared accounts can have new sessions paused, and repeated sharing can get an account blocked with no refund.

What should you check before buying any interview tool?

These questions are worth asking before you pay. Ask them of ParakeetAI, of us, and of anyone else.

• Is it a one-time purchase or a plan that renews? And if it renews, is it weekly, monthly or yearly, and on what date?
• What exactly ends the refund window? Look for words like “used”, “activated” or “substantial”. If one paid session ends it, test on free sessions only.
• Do credits or sessions expire? Search the pricing page and terms for “expire”. Silence is not a promise; ask.
• Is there a session cap or a time limit per call? A call that outlasts your session is the worst moment to find out.
• What happens to a credit when the app fails? Ask support before you buy, and judge the answer and how long it took.
• Which currency will you be charged in? The price on the page and the line on your statement should match.
