How to cancel LockedIn AI and ask for a refund
To cancel LockedIn AI, sign in to the web app at app.lockedinai.com, click your avatar in the left sidebar, open Billing & Plans and choose Cancel subscription under Manage Membership. You cannot do it from the desktop app. If you paid on an iPhone or Android phone, you cancel in the App Store or Google Play instead. Do it at least a day before your renewal date. That is the short version, from LockedIn AI’s own support page, which we read on 4 November 2026.
The longer version matters because the people who end up searching for this are often already stuck. Two Trustpilot reviewers put it like this:
“I was hit with an automatic subscription renewal without any advance notification or warning.”
juanerpa, Trustpilot, 20 July 2026
“I used the product for 10 minutes and wasn't satisfied with it.”
MC, Trustpilot, 30 September 2026
Below: every way to cancel, the real deadline, what the refund policy covers, how to ask for your money back, and the session limit that has caught people out mid-interview. We make PiriPiri AI, another interview copilot, so we have an interest. Our part is near the end.
How do you cancel a LockedIn AI subscription?
Where you cancel depends on where you paid. LockedIn AI sells on its website, and through the App Store and Google Play inside its phone apps. Those are three different billing systems, and only the one you paid through can stop the next charge.
If you paid on the website or in the desktop app
- Open a browser and sign in at app.lockedinai.com. Use the same login you bought with.
- Click your avatar in the left sidebar.
- Open Billing & Plans.
- Under Manage Membership, choose Cancel subscription and confirm.
- Take a screenshot of the confirmation screen, and keep the confirmation email.
That route is from the support page, which says plainly that cancelling “isn’t available in the Desktop App”. The FAQ on its pricing page describes the same thing a little differently: payments run through Stripe, and you cancel through the subscription management link in your account dashboard. If you do not see a cancel option under Billing & Plans, look for that link in your dashboard.
If you paid on an iPhone or iPad
Open Settings, tap your name, tap Subscriptions, pick LockedIn AI and cancel. The pricing FAQ says the in-app Manage Subscription button opens the same screen. Cancelling on the website will not stop an Apple charge, because Apple bills you, not LockedIn AI.
If you paid on an Android phone
Open the Google Play app, tap your profile picture, go to Payments & subscriptions, then Subscriptions, and cancel LockedIn AI there. Uninstalling the app does not cancel anything.
If you cannot find the cancel button
You would not be the first. One reviewer wrote that there is “no clear or functional “Cancel Subscription” button provided anywhere in the user portal”. Another, Ciaran Raymer, said on 4 August 2026 that “the docs are out of date and do not reflect the actual way to cancel”. LockedIn AI replied to both and asked them to contact support. The steps above are what its support page said on 4 November 2026, so they may be newer than what those reviewers saw. If they still do not work for you, check these in order:
- Are you in the right account? LockedIn AI’s own FAQ says that when people cannot tell which subscription is which, it usually means two accounts, most often one made with Google sign-in and one with email. Sign out and sign in the other way, and look again.
- Did you pay through a store? Search your email for an Apple or Google Play receipt. If one exists, the cancel button is in the store, not on the website.
- Still nothing? Email support@lockedinai.com with the subject “Cancel my subscription”, your registered email and your User ID, and ask for written confirmation that it is cancelled. Email at least 24 hours before the billing period ends, and keep the message as a record of your request.
When do you have to cancel to avoid the next charge?
Every LockedIn AI subscription renews by itself. Its terms of service say paid subscriptions renew “for the same duration at the then-current price” unless you cancel, and add: “To avoid renewal, cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends.” The support page only says to cancel before your renewal date. Go by the stricter one. Treat the day before your renewal date as the real deadline.
Monthly, quarterly and annual subscriptions renew unless you cancel; only the one-time Lifetime plan does not. The support page answers a question people clearly ask, “I was charged again even though I wanted a one-month plan. Why?”, by saying there is no one-month option that ends after the first month. A quarterly plan renews as another quarter, and an annual plan as another year.
The good news is that cancelling never shortens what you already paid for. By the support page, you keep full access until the end of the period, and then the account drops to the Free plan. So the safest habit is to cancel the same day you subscribe. You lose nothing, and a busy week of interviews, or a job offer, cannot make you forget. If you later want to keep going, you can subscribe again.
How do you stop a charge if cancelling does not work?
Cancelling with LockedIn AI is the real fix. But if the renewal is close and the button will not work, you can stop the money at your end while you sort it out.
- Card in India. RBI rules require a pre-debit notice at least 24 hours before an automatic card charge, and you can cancel the e-mandate yourself in your bank or card app. If the notice arrives for a plan you meant to drop, cancel the mandate then and there.
- Card elsewhere. Many banks let you block one merchant or freeze the card in their app. Its refund policy says charges appear as “LOCKEDIN AI”, billed by Cyber Gravity LLC.
- Apple or Google. Only the store can stop the charge.
A blocked card does not end the subscription, so still cancel with LockedIn AI.
What does LockedIn AI’s refund policy actually cover?
Less than the pricing page might suggest at first glance. Its pricing page shows small badges reading “Money-back guarantee” and “Cancel anytime”. Its refund policy, last updated 14 October 2026 when we read it on 4 November 2026, says no refunds are offered once a subscription has started, and encourages you to use the free plan before buying. Here is what it says for each kind of purchase:
| What you bought | What the refund policy says |
|---|---|
| Monthly or quarterly subscription | Non-refundable once started. Cancelling keeps access to the end of the period, with no refund and no prorated credit. |
| Annual subscription | A partial refund if you cancel within 7 days of purchase. Nothing after 7 days. |
| Lifetime plan | A full refund within 7 days, but only if you have not started a session. Non-refundable once you start your first session. |
| Billing errors | May be refunded if you contact support within 7 days of the charge: a duplicate charge, paying with no access given, or a charge after you cancelled before the renewal date (send the cancellation confirmation email). |
| Bought in the App Store | Handled by Apple under Apple’s rules, not by LockedIn AI. |
| Outages caused by a third party | No refund, though it may offer credits or extra time at its discretion. |
Two more lines matter. The support page says refund requests are “handled case by case”, and both pages say nothing in them limits a refund right your local consumer law gives you. The refund policy is strict, but support says it considers requests individually, and local law may give you additional rights. On a credit plan, leftover credits never expire, but once the subscription ends they only work with the general AI models; the professional models, Duo and Stealth Mode need a subscription.
What happened when reviewers asked for refunds?
We read the one star and two star reviews on LockedIn AI’s Trustpilot page on 4 November 2026, plus the reviews of its Chrome extension. A few patterns stand out.
Refused after a few minutes of use
MC wrote on 30 September 2026 that after trying the product briefly, “they said because I used it for 10 minutes, I am not eligible for a refund.” and that they were now disputing the charge with their bank. This matches the written policy: a monthly plan counts as started the moment you use it.
Partial offers instead of a full refund
Monaque, reviewed in June 2026, wrote that “the company offered first a 10% refund and then a 20% refund, while continuing to refuse a full refund.” Their advice to others: “I would encourage potential customers to carefully review the refund policy before purchasing”.
Refunds that came, but slowly
Some reviews end with money back. Emily wrote in June 2026 that “It took several days, 11 emails and 1 bad trustpilot review before they even acknowledged my request to unsubscribe and get a refund.” LockedIn AI replied on 3 July 2026: “At no point was your refund refused, it was pending the outcome of our standard review process.” Ian updated his July 2026 review to say a refund had been offered. On Alejandro’s November 2025 review, the company replied on 10 November 2025: “We’ve already processed full refunds for both of your purchases”. A clear written record and follow-ups seem to matter.
The EU withdrawal right and locked accounts
Adem Baazouzi wrote in April 2026 that a refund under the EU 14 day right of withdrawal was refused (“Customer support explicitly refused the refund.”) and came only after a chargeback. Ka Gia wrote in June 2026: “They locked my account without any explanation.” The support page says one account can run only one session on one device at a time, so do not share a login.
LockedIn AI replied to most of these reviews, usually asking the writer to email support with their account details. When we opened its Trustpilot page on 4 November 2026, it showed: “This company’s rating is unavailable due to a breach of our guidelines.” and “We’ve removed a number of fake reviews for this company.” It listed 120 reviews, 65% five stars and 23% one star.
How do you ask LockedIn AI for a refund?
Its refund policy asks for an email to support@lockedinai.com with your registered email address, the charge you want refunded, the reason, and any supporting details. It says the team reviews requests within 7 business days, and that approved refunds go back to the original payment method within 5 to 10 business days, with a confirmation email.
Before you write
- Cancel first. It stops the next charge whatever happens to your request.
- Collect your evidence. The receipt or statement line, the cancellation confirmation, and screenshots of anything that went wrong or of the plan you chose at checkout.
- Lead with the strongest true reason. A charge after cancelling, or a double charge, are the cases the policy names, and the clock is 7 days from the charge. If the app failed in a real interview, say when. If you believe a statutory withdrawal right applies to your purchase, explain why in your request.
- Keep it short and calm. A clear record helps you more if this ends up with your bank.
A message you can copy
Subject: Refund request, account [your registered email]
Hello,
I am writing about a charge of [amount] on [date] for the [plan name] plan, on the account registered to [email] (User ID [ID], if you have it).
[Pick one: I cancelled on [date] before the renewal date and was charged anyway; my cancellation confirmation is attached. / I was charged twice for the same plan; both receipts are attached. / The app stopped working during a live interview on [date]; screenshots are attached.]
I have cancelled the subscription. Please refund [amount] to my original payment method, and confirm by email. Your refund policy says requests are reviewed within 7 business days, so I look forward to your reply by [date seven working days from now].
Thank you,
[Your name]
Keep a copy of what you send and note the date. If you get an automatic reply, keep that too.
What if support says no or does not answer?
Wait the 7 business days the policy mentions, then send one short follow-up that quotes your first email. The company does reply on Trustpilot, and some reviewers got further after posting. Beyond that, it depends on where you live and how you paid. The rules are explained in our guide on whether an interview copilot is worth it; in short:
- In the EU, you normally have 14 days to withdraw from an online purchase. For digital content supplied at once, that right can end when supply starts, but only if you agreed to that, usually with a tick box at checkout. If you saw no such box, say so.
- In the US, the FTC’s “click to cancel” rule was struck down by a federal appeals court on 8 July 2025, so a card dispute is the main route for a charge you did not agree to.
- Through the App Store, ask Apple at Report a Problem. Through Google Play, you can request a refund yourself within 48 hours of buying.
- Last step: a chargeback. Give your bank the charge date, amount and reason (charged after cancelling, charged twice, or a service that did not work as described), and attach your emails, the cancellation confirmation and screenshots.
Why did my LockedIn AI session stop mid-interview?
One possible reason is the session time limit, which also applies to unlimited plans. LockedIn AI’s support page says every session has a maximum length, separate from your balance, and that it applies on unlimited plans too:
- Paid plans: 120 minutes for most session types, 60 minutes for Mock interviews.
- Free plan with a credit balance: 60 minutes, or 30 for Mock interviews.
- Free plan with no balance: 5 minutes per session, up to 60 free minutes a day, with a one minute pause between sessions.
You get roughly 30 seconds of warning, and the support page calls it a hard stop to plan around. To carry on, start a new session; on recent desktop versions, Ctrl or Cmd with Shift and 2 does it with your previous settings. Sessions also end when credits run out, after 15 minutes with no speech transcribed, or when you open LockedIn AI in a second window or device, which ends the first session without warning.
Two hours covers most single interviews, but not always a long loop on one call or a panel that overruns. For a long round, start the session as late as you can, remember the restart shortcut, and keep the app open in one place only.
Not every stop is a time limit, though. Krishna wrote in August 2025 that “It worked for first few minutes and after that it stopped prompting”; a verified reviewer in October 2025 said it “stopped in between my interview”; and Ian, in July 2026, called it “Buggy, stops working and receiving answers from LLM halfway through.” On the Chrome Web Store, Mi Dri wrote in September 2026: “It lost me the job by answering 2 different questions with the same answer and trying to recover.” Whatever tool you use, keep a page of your best examples beside the screen so you can carry on if the app stops working.
What does LockedIn AI do well?
Plenty of people like it, and it is a full product rather than a thin wrapper. Sking G wrote in March 2026 that “It worked well on Teams, even when I had to share my screen to show my code.” Rajesh, in August 2026, praised “Very quick answer generation” and its support team. An App Store reviewer, Nanar999, titled their review “Finally something that keeps up with a live conversation.” The iPhone app had 4.3 out of 5 from 22 ratings, and the Chrome extension 4.4 out of 5 from 72 ratings, when we checked.
By its support page, it offers 82 interview scenarios from software engineering to nursing, AI models from six families (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok, DeepSeek and Kimi), screenshot capture for coding rounds, mock interviews, resume and career tools that are free on any plan, and a desktop app for macOS and Windows plus a web app. Credits never expire, and the free plan lets you run real, if short, sessions.
One thing to check if you will share your screen: Stealth Mode, which hides the app from a share, is not on the Unlimited General plan, and it works only in the desktop app with desktop Zoom, Teams or Meet. The support page calls Teams in a browser “a known gap” and says the web version “hides nothing at all”. Use its Test Stealth Mode button, then do a real test share with a friend.
Is LockedIn AI worth it for your search?
When we last checked its pricing page (October 2026, from a US location), the Unlimited Pro plan, the unlimited plan that includes Stealth Mode, was $119.99 a month, or $79.99 a month billed every three months, which is one payment of about $239.97 each quarter. It also sells credit plans and a lifetime plan. Its pricing FAQ describes the credit plan as 400 minutes of live interview help a month, and says subscriptions cost more inside the phone apps because Apple and Google take a commission.
So the honest test is how many interviews you have, and when. If you are interviewing several times a week for months and you read the renewal terms closely, an unlimited plan can make sense. If you have three interviews next month, you still pay for the billing period and must cancel to prevent renewal. Monthly and quarterly plans are generally non-refundable once started. For comparison, three interviews on PiriPiri AI packs cost $10 in total, against $119.99 for one month of Pro.
Either way, use the free plan first. Five minute sessions are enough to check that it hears both sides of a call on your headset, how fast the first line appears, and whether the answers use your CV. Then decide. Our LockedIn AI alternatives page sets it beside other tools, feature by feature.
What should you check before buying any interview tool?
Before paying, check the renewal terms, refund policy and session limits. These checks work for every tool, ours included.
- Does it renew? Look for “auto-renew” and the renewal price.
- What is charged today? A monthly price can be billed for a quarter or a year at once. Screenshot the amount and period.
- What voids a refund? “Non-refundable once started” or “substantial usage” means testing costs you the refund. Test on the free plan.
- Do credits expire, and is there a session cap?Compare any cap with your longest likely interview.
- Where is the cancel button? Find it before you pay.
What to do next if you are leaving LockedIn AI
If your problem was paying for a month you did not need, the simplest fix is a tool you pay for per interview. That is how PiriPiri AI works.
- Pay per interview. You buy one-time packs at about $2.50 an interview, and the sessions never expire. Buy packs for the interviews you have. Packs do not renew automatically. There is also an optional monthly plan for people with a steady run of interviews; like any subscription, cancel it before it renews if you stop needing it.
- Free sessions, no card. Every new account gets 3 free sessions of 10 minutes each, with no card needed, so you can run the checks above before paying anything.
- A desktop app for macOS and Windows that hears both sides. It listens to your microphone and the interviewer’s audio from the computer, so headphones are fine, and drafts short answers on a small overlay using your CV and the job description.
- Off your shared screen. The overlay does not appear when you share your screen or record. Still test it on your own machine with a friend before the real call.
To be fair about our side: we have refund rules too. An unused pack can be refunded within 7 days; once you start a session from a pack, that purchase is not refundable unless the fault was ours. Read our refund policy before you buy, the same way this page asks you to read theirs. Each paid session lasts 60 minutes, so check that against how long your interview is likely to run, the same check we suggest for LockedIn AI. On a Mac, hearing the interviewer needs macOS 14.2 or later. Full prices are on the pricing page, and the LockedIn AI alternatives page has the full side by side comparison.
Questions people ask
Can I cancel LockedIn AI from the desktop app?
No. Its support page says cancelling happens only in the web app at app.lockedinai.com, under Billing & Plans. If you paid through the App Store or Google Play, cancel in the store instead. We checked this on 4 November 2026.
Can I get a refund on a LockedIn AI monthly plan?
Its refund policy says monthly and quarterly plans are non-refundable once started. It names exceptions for billing errors reported within 7 days of the charge, such as a duplicate charge or a charge after you cancelled, and says it does not limit refund rights your local law gives you.
Do LockedIn AI credits expire?
No, by its support and refund pages. Once a subscription ends, though, credits only work with the general AI models; the professional models, Duo and Stealth Mode need an active subscription.
How long can one LockedIn AI session run?
On paid plans, 120 minutes (60 for Mock interviews), by its support page, and that applies on unlimited plans too. You get about 30 seconds of warning, then you start a new session.
Should I start a chargeback with my bank straight away?
Usually not. Cancel, email support with the details its policy asks for, and allow the 7 business days it says a review takes. Your bank will normally want to see that you asked the seller first, so that email thread becomes your evidence.
